A great picture of the happy band outside the Lychgate of St. George’s. They are: June Crighton, Helen Sharpe, Philip Harmer, Joanna Heaththorn, John Croxton, Bob Jameson, Alex Sharpe, Heather Morris, Jeremy Owen, Liz Blake, Ros Barker. Well done.
The response across the country has been magnificent and hundreds of you have written in letting us know of your terrific efforts. You had a mention in The Telegraph and The Times., BBC Regional Radio programmes, local newspapers and goodness knows where else. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR SUCH A SUPREME EFFORT
Today’s Daily Telegraph has a lead story on St. George’s Day and the Ringing for England campaign and all the country’s wonderful ringers get a loud mention.

BBC Regional Radio stations have taken up with many of our stories across the country. The campaign has been interviewed together with bell ringers spreading the good news.
Merseyside will resound to the ringing of ‘Great George’ the famous bell, weighing in at 293cwt, the second heaviest in the land. Liverpool’s cathedral joins in and in recognition of St. George will ring 23 times.
The campaign has sparked interest throughout the country with the BBC Regional Radio stations making inquiries and requesting interviews for St. George’s Day. This is great for the campaign helping to spread the good news and gaining praise for all of England’s bell ringers.
