Cathedral of the North – NEWCASTLE will ring for ST.GEORGE April 23rd.

The most northerly cathedral in England – NEWCASTLE  will have its 12 bells rung by its ringers, all volunteers, to celebrate ST.GEORGE, England’s Patron Saint.  This great Cathedral, with its most distinctive 15th C Lantern Spire, is dedicated to St. Nicholas, Patron Saint of sailors and boats, for its spire was used as a navigational point on the great River Tyne.  This city comes alive at night as a great centre of entertainment and its University is one of the most popular in the country.
