There is hardly a superlative left in the English language that has not graced this Wren’s masterpiece. Inspite of being surrounded by modernism and height it stands proud and commanding in its own space. And this very special church will ring out and ring out and ring out for St. George. Its north west tower contains 13 bells and its other, the south west has 4 including its famous bell ‘Great Paul’ weighing in at 16 and half tons. Whilst St. Paul’s is London’s Cathedral they are only the fortunate custodians for it belongs in reality to the whole country and represents its spirit. So Londoners listen out on April 23rd for this great sound.
