The RYBURG RINGERS were part of a concert held at St. Andrew’s in GREAT RYBURGH where there were musicians, Shakespeare’s works set to music, and the day rounded off with the band ringing out the 6 bells all in celebration of a great day – ST.GEORGE’S Day. A great cheer for this  band of St. Nicholas in BRUSHFORD who are new ringers and this was their first ring for ST.GEORGE’S DAY.  Lets hope there will be many more years when they will ring out on April 23rd. Well done.  The photo was sent in by Jude Atkins.

Here is the band – a very merry band,  of ringers who rang the 6 bells at St. Hugh’s church in DURLEIGH and how brilliantly decked out they all are in acknowledgement of England’s Day, ST.GEORGE’S DAY. Thank you for such wonderful support for the Campaign.

All ages can ring and here is a wonderful example of how school children can learn to take to the ropes.  Elizabeth Butler, Tower Captain of St. Michael’s in the lovely village of AMBERLEY organised the senior children of the school to celebrate ST.GEORGE’S Day by ringing out from their local church.  All succeeded wonderfully and they had a surprise guest – the Ringing Master of the SCACR joined in wearing his chain of office which fascinated the children.  He also brought along a working model to demonstrate the bells action.  They all rang and thoroughly enjoyed the experience adding to the excitement of the day.  Well done to them all.

The 8 bells of the church in the village of Westonzoyland have been silent for a while but the band were determined to set them up to ring. Here they are having rung during the day and helped make a great celebration for ST.GEORGES’s Day.  The photo was sent in by John Hallett.

Here are the merry band who rang out for ST.GEORGE today from St. Mary’s and its 8 bells.  All decked out looking just the part to celebrate England’s Day.  Well done to your all.

The ringers of ESSEX who took up the challenge for the Rolling Ring have completed an exhausting day but a great fun day and a huge achievement.  Here are some of the ringers at Littlebury church of the Holy Trinity with its 6 bells standing in front of the wonderful stained glass window of ST.GEORGE!  There will be more to come on how many towers were conquered.

The numbers of bells going to ring on Saturday are growing across the southern counties of the country and they include: Peasmarsh – All Saints and Beckley – SS Peter & Paul and St Mary’s Ticehurst in East Sussex, Chalfont St Peter’s and All Saints – High Wycombe in Bucks. All Saints  – Kingston Seymour and St Peter’s Portishead in Somerset . In Kent -SS Peter & Paul in Tonbridge and in Hampshire Petersfield’s St. Peter whose picture is below.
