LIVERPOOL – So Full of Superlatives – Will Ring Out
The people of Merseyside should wonder at the superlatives of their very own Cathedral. It can claim to be the second longest Cathedral in the World and the 5th largest in the World. Not only will the fortunate many of this area be able to hear its 13 bells ringing out to celebrate St. George but they should also take pride that amongst these bells is ‘Great George’ the second heaviest in the country. And wonderful people of Liverpool you also have the highest and heaviest peal of bells IN THE WORLD.

BRISTOL’S Cathedral Church to Ring Out
The West Country will be encouraged to help celebrate St. George’s Day when they hear the 8 bells of this University City ringing out. It has been a Cathedral since 1542 and many a visitor has admired the building’s exceptional vaulted ceiling which was much praised by Pevsner.

BIRMINGHAM Cathedral is going to ring out for St. George.
The Campaign has been encouraged by The Dean of the Cathedral Church of St. Philip supported by their wonderful ringers to ring out on the day. Their magnificent 12 bells will ring out on April 23rd and anyone interested in the art of the Pre-Raphaelites should not only go to listen to the the sound of these bells but also to admire the stained glass windows designed by Burn Jones and made by William Morris.
EXETER Cathedral – The 2nd Heaviest Ring in the World – Will ring for St. George!
This tremendous international claim made with immense pride by Canon Precentor Carl Turner who, together with the Dean, has encouraged its wonderful ringers to ring out for St. George. These bells numbering 12 in total have its ‘Grandisson’ tenor weighing in at 72cwt. This Cathedral is a wonderous sight to see and for those interested in architecture it also claims to have the longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England.
